Originally designed by talented architect and former Australian Test cricketer, Max Walker and now, masterfully renovated by Curatd Design.

Boasting luxurious finishes throughout such as custom Spanish marble tiles, cutting edge Dekton by Cosentino flooring, soaring ceilings and restored cedar panelling and marble crowning the fireplace. The lighting plan was thoughtfully prepared to highlight these finishes whilst providing functional light for living. 

The Brief:  

Creating a space that harmoniously leans into the homes architectural history whilst maximising its warmth. The design leads with a base of warm neutrals, bringing in varying mid strength but the lighting will need to consider strong pops of colour for carefully selected materials or pieces. 

The Approach: 

Kirsty is passionate about the way we now live in our homes is changing. Having a cohesive indoor-outdoor approach that lends itself to resort style with functional and adaptable layouts focusing on natural light to maximise winter and minimise the summer sun is part of that transition – making lighting design even more critical. 

The interior design style used a tactile, multi-sensory palette with humble materials and finishes that provide a relaxed sophistication and the lighting design was centred around enhancing this. 

The use of a variety of ambient wall washers, functional adjustable ceiling lights and outdoor lighting supported Kirsty’s vision and gave each space the desired feel.
