LED GLOBES
The About Space LED globe range
LED light bulbs are becoming increasingly popular as an energy-saving alternative to traditional incandescent bulbs. LED stands for “light-emitting diode,” and these bulbs produce light using a semiconductor instead of a filament. This makes them much more efficient than incandescent bulbs, which waste a lot of energy as heat.
LEDs are also much more durable than traditional bulbs, with a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours. This means they’ll last many years before needing to be replaced. If you’re looking for an energy-efficient and long-lasting lighting solution, LED light bulbs are a great option.
Looking for other types of globes and lighting accessories? Check out our collection of Edison globes, smart globes, ceiling plates, and lampshades.
Choosing the right LED globes
When deciding on LED globes, there are a few things to keep in mind.
First, choose the shape and size of your globe. This can be overwhelming due to the amount of different shapes and sizes available, but if you’re unsure, simply choose a standard shape and size. Just make sure it fits to the lighting fixture you’re pairing it with!
Second, dimmable or non dimmable. This step isn’t a necessity in a lot of cases but it is good to know that the option is available. Dimmable globes make a great option for entertaining areas because you can adjust the ambience and mood at any time.
Finally, you want to choose a globe with the right colour temperature. A good rule of thumb is that warm white globes are best used in dining rooms, hallways, living rooms and bedrooms for a calm relaxed effect. Cool white is best used where clear and natural lighting is required, such as a study or laundry. Daylight white is best used in areas you want a very bright effect.
